Dry sturdy, but no porch for squirrels and the lid is very heavy

First, I would have given customer service 5 stars but the Feeder quality is very poor. 1. There is no opening on the left side for the squirrels to access the left food compartment. 2. There was a protruding nail on top that could have torn open an unwary person's finger. 3. The left side hinge for the top was damaged. 4. All hinge screws were left protruding as it appears the wrong size/type screws were used. A replacement feeder was sent but it had all the same problems and left side hinge was in worse condition then the first feeder. I would not recommend anyone buy this particular feeder until the defects are corrected.

This was a gift for my father and he absolutely loved it!
