I selected these tent steaks to help keep my holiday decorations in place. They screw into the ground rather easily, and wires or ropes can be held down either by the little arm on the side or the hook at the top. After screwing the steaks into the ground, I tried pulling up on it, there was resistance. I am confident that they will help keep my decorations and cords in place.  Cleaning them was easy, I rinsed them off with water and let them dry. 

So these are much smaller then canopy stakes Ive bought in stores. I did go out and per instructions screw into the ground. I pulled it out with two yanks in sandy soil. Is it better the the generic slim aluminum ones that come with most tents Yes it is. Are there better ones out on the market for the price YES THERE ARE. Basically, these are large woodscrews with an eyebolt and wire hook. A great design for dog and tent stakes, however, these are a bit small to be effective for tie-outs. We will see how it handles tie lines. update: decided to use these to hold down tarps used for ground cover. Works but do not put tension on them or they will pull up.
