The seed area only measures 0.5 inches deep. It appears that this feeder will not hold 10 lbs of feed as described. The area is also long and narrow so I anticipate difficulty spreading the seed along such a confined tunnel of 5.5 inches wide and 14.25 inches long. It is a heavy feeder overall and I like the look and the metal roof.

I love this bird feeder!! I live in an area with many working covered bridges, and I love that I can add some whimsy with a local flavor to my yard.
