It takes getting use to. Does not have the power of 16.

My wife is an athlete, her first pickleball paddle was 4 years ago and was out of date. She had power, she needed control. The Scorpeus improved her game immediately! I was a birthday hero. We now have fewer doubles arguments.

I have owned 4 Joola Collin Johns Scorpeus paddles. They play very well. Nice pop and plenty of grit for spin & shot placement at the kitchen. In those regards, I love the paddle. What is not so nice is the butt cap on all four have come loose after 3 to 4 months of play. I have taken them all apart and added Gorilla Glue to keep the handle stable. The paddle face also breaks down at the top of the paddle over time. Joola has been kind enough to replace them on warranty when they do so which means I get two paddles for the price of one over time which is nice. But beware, if the second one breaks down, and it will, that they only warranty one paddle and you are out of luck with the second one, even though it has the same quality issues as the first one. Joola needs to "fix" the issues in its paddles so its warranty is not so well known and disliked by loyal Joola players. Hope this helps!

I’m 71 years old and have been playing pickleball for 5 years. I have tried a few different paddles but as I got better I needed a better paddle. I’ve had the Collin Johns Scorpeus since January 2024 and just in the last month the binding started to come off. But considering playing 3-4 times a week and dropping it sometimes it was reasonable. I like the power and control and spin I got so I Gorilla glued the binding and it plays great! I like this paddle so much I bought another one for my birthday but won’t use it until the old one is totally used up. Thanks Joola!
