I did not read carefully enough about the base of this umbrella being a sandbag. When I realized that, I bought a heavier weighted base to use with it but found it not to be compatible. So in my stupidity I ordered a different heavy base and realized after placing that order that unless I had the pole altered at the bottom I would be stuck using the sandbag base. Still trying to make it work. The heavier base has wheels to allow you to move the umbrella around. After having it up and using it I found that any breeze will cause the umbrella to swivel around from the position it was put in. The knob that should tighten to keep it in place cannot be tightened enough to keep it where I want it. The company said it was because of the size. Wow -- bad excuse for a product fail. My friend has a few large umbrellas of a similar style -- they stay in place. Knowing this I would not buy this company's umbrella or other products again.

The umbrella itself is attractive. The bags that are used as weights are very flimsy and were split at the seams when moving the bag filled with sand.

Failed the third time we used it. Something in the levering mechanism stopped working. Also the sandbag ripped--they are closer to paper bags than really meant to hold 50 pounds or more of weight. I will say this, however, I had heard very mixed reviews about Wayfair's customer service practices, but my experience could not have been easier although a bit inconvenient. They simply credited the credit card for the full amount and said to donate the umbrella elsewhere or throw it out.

This umbrella worked perfectly for our outdoor event. It was great being able to move the shade around to where we needed it. Good quality. Hope it lasts for many years.

I was disappointed that it did not come with a “base” as described. But all in all, the price and value are decent
