I have have this umbrella for two years and am very happy with it. The fabric is not Sumbrella, which I consider to be the best canvas for umbrellas, but this fabric is holding up pretty well. Be sure to keep it clean, and keep wasps, and other insects from making nests as they can damage the fabric, as well as sting you :-). I do not have a traditional base. I was having a patio poured, so had a metal holder installed. You can even install this type of holder later as well, and I recommend them as there is no tripping over big bulky stands.

The umbrella arrived and found out from delivery service that this purchase did not include a base. If I would have known that this crucial piece was not included, I probably would not have purchased it in the first place from Birch Lane. I gave this product 2 stars because Birch Lane could improve on communication, or the very least tried to up-sell me this piece during check out, but alas they don't sell this item.

Gorgeous high-quality, sturdy umbrella. Bought the base separately from Wayfair, excellent quality as well. It’s exactly what I was looking for, I highly recommend!

I’d purchased a smaller deck umbrella two years ago and decided it was time to upgrade for better coverage and one that can handle more wind. We’ve been using this for about a month and so far so good! It can handle wind, it’s very attractive and it’s easy enough for everyone to maneuver. We paired this with the Cantilever Free Standing Umbrella Base SETM2066, which works nicely. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend.

Timeless, quality-made, and very large. Best outdoor umbrella!
