Charming unique design. Birds love the safety of the glass cups, away from large birds and squirrels

This purchase makes three of these house tray feeders. Two are on a trellis surrounded by ivy and the other is on a fence. What I like about these is that the little glass cup comes out so you can give them a good cleaning. I've had these out for three New England winters, and they hold up well. I have red ones and the paint has held up. The paint on the glass cups wear a bit though, but it's not a problem for me. You can find spare glass cups that go with these too that come in all colors including clear, if you happen to chip one or you want fresh ones at any point. In winter, I'll often take the glass cups in the house and give them a good cleaning with Dawn dishwashing liquid, and let them dry inside overnight. Then, I put them back in the feeders in the cold morning, so all I have to do is fill them with seed and get back inside quick. Also, I like that the peaked roof helps keep the seed and the feeding birds a little dryer in bad weather. I've seen some birds just hanging out in them, sunning themselves or sleeping. I've seen big doves shove themselves in there too. I've seen birds feeding and chucking some seed to little birds below. And squirrels will do some acrobatics to get their heads into the cup for seed. The heaviest of squirrels have not ruined them. All of the creatures get fed one way or the other. I think the squirrels here actually break down the hulled sunflower seeds, so the smaller birds get not only the smaller seed but tiny pieces of hulled sunflower. And the squirrels warn the birds when hawks are nearby. I see them all working together all day around these feeders. These feeders have been a great investment. If I had a bigger yard, I'd probably have a lot more. Note: These don't seem to come with a screw to attach them to anything, so there was a trip to the hardware store for those.
