The base looks stylish enough and ordinarily I would think it would be a good buy. However it's not a product that lends itself well to online ordering and Fedex shipping. Ours was quite badly damaged on arrival. Frankly, for a product weighing nearly 130 pounds the styrofoam and cardboard packaging is inadequate. Then of course, if it is damaged on arrival, you've got the problem of perhaps returning an item weighing 130 pounds! One other point - the concrete stand comes with an attachable accessory (for the umbrella pole) - which apparently is shipped separately. In our case that second component has yet to arrive - and its been over a week since the base was delivered.

Very heavy base but it got to me with a wheel broken off. It’s super heavy so it really was not fun returning it for an exchange.

The pole assembly on the weighted base was smashed into an oval. All the plastic parts inside were shattered. Frustrating and disappointing.

Arrived damaged, but was still able to make it work. Just have to live with a dent in the silver stand.
