Beautiful design and easy to put together. There's a bit of quality control needed as some of the seats are just a bit out of square and you cannot attach both sides with the supplied screws but this can be overcome by using some longer furniture screws. Haven't sealed it yet as we planned to use it for a party. Be sure to seal it and use a good cover when not in use or storing in the wet season - I don't have a wet season but will cover anyway.

So disappointed with this set. I was excited for the product to arrive and to set it up for use on our exterior deck. The delivery was a breeze and the packaging was great. However, during assembly, the wood on the top rail of four of the six chairs cracked when bolting the chairs together. See photos. The bolts are too large for the width of the wood and the screw holes are not properly aligned. Additionally, the table top arrived with a chip and a crack unrelated to assembly. The wood is thin and unsubstantial. Following the assembly process, I sprayed clear polyurethane on all of the surfaces to preserve the wood as recommended by the instructions. Despite having applied 2 coats, after having the set for less than two weeks, the wood on the top of the table is now peeling off in several locations. The amount of effort to put this set together is frustrating in and of itself due to the malalignment issues previously mentioned but to have the table now start to chip is unacceptable, particularly for a set from the reputable Plow and Hearth. The set is brand new but looks several years old and worn out. Avoid this set at all costs.

This dining set is gorgeous. It was simple to assemble. My only complaint is that there is a gap where the seats screw into the side rails so these aren’t screened in as tightly as I’d expect. And I’d recommend seat cushions.

The description says this product is made of "solid wood" but doesn't tell you that it's covered with veneer. I thought I was ordering a product made for outdoor use, but after just one season it's already delaminating. We sealed with teak oil as instructed. Find a solid teak table if you're looking for something that can stand up to the elements.
