The pergola appears to be well built, however I ordered it on 6/13, and received it in 5 boxes between 6/19 and 6/22, original delivery was supposed to be 6/18. The instructions said to inventory the parts, and one part# was missing, there was supposed to be 4 of these. Since it was a small part that did not seem to be a major part until the later part of assembly, I started assembling the pergola. During the installation, I discovered 3 different parts that were defective. One of the parts had a missing bolt that is required before assembly could continue, the other part had a nut that would just spin and not able to tighten, so that stopped the assembly as well. The third was a curtain that was torn during shipping. I contacted the customer service department on June 30, and supplied them with the required pictures and descriptions. On July 5th, They finally said they were shipping the parts. I received the shipment on July 11. Upon opening the package they only sent the curtains. I have contacted customer service again. Hopefully they will get it right this time. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks for some parts while the pergola sits partially assembled. It is interesting that the assembly instructions clearly state 24/7 customer service, however there is no contact information. Phone numbers, emails, etc provided. All communications go thru wayfair, they then forward it to “the manufacturer”. The manufacturer then reply’s about 2 days (48 hrs) later, requesting more info, or that they sent something, however they do not tell you what they sent, you have to wait for the package to see.
I am anxious that this will be a nice pergola once it is fully assembled, but customer service is lacking. Based on what I am experiencing, I would probably choose a different manufacturer.
