The canopy cover is flimsy and detaches from the structure

Pros: It's lightweight. Wasn't overly difficult to assemble. Wasn't missing any parts. Didn't have to modify any parts or force anything together to get everything to fit. Wasn't damaged in any appreciable way during shipping. Looks nice. Retractable canopy functions as it should. Cons: About a third of the plastic buttons that cover the screw heads were molded incorrectly, so they pop off constantly (a quality control issue). And here is the biggest flaw which has me very angry: I specifically paid more for the version that included the "shady canopy" that covers the retractable canopy to protect it from the elements. But the shade canopy is trash. It's both designed poorly and is low quality. When assembled, the fabric isn't tight enough for rainwater to run off. Therefore, water pools on top of the fabric, the weight of which stretches the fabric and makes the pooling even worse. The fabric isn't waterproof, so the rainwater drips through it into the retractable canopy anyway, completely defeating the purpose of it. Every time it rains, I have to go out on the deck with a broom handle and push up on the shade canopy fabric to dump out the water. My husband is handy, so he's going to attempt to install a pipe under the shade canopy fabric to keep it from sagging so rainwater won't pool in it, but we shouldn't have to do this. The idea of the shade canopy is good, but the execution is poor. Overall, it's ok for the price, but it could definitely use some improvements both in quality and design.

Arrived completely damaged. The metal is cheap and the screws strip easily. Almost all of the beams are dented and a lot pieces broken. Holes don’t line up either.

Came partial damaged. The parts don’t align properly. Debating on returning it. Shipping is not free

Received the pergola with multiple parts broken or dented. We hired somebody to set it up, so it was “painful” to pack it up to send it back. We just had to do and fix whatever we could. Very poor material, dlimsy metal for the price
