I've got my pergola on a rooftop in Chicago. Between the wind and the winter, I've had to make the canopy removeable by using ball bungee cords. The original shade lasted about 6 years. I probably could have gotten another year out of it but decided to replace.

This replacement canopy worked so well on our Wafair pergola. We lost the original cover in a hail storm...just wish we could get it in gray should it happen again. Thanks Wayfair.
