Bellaire 40'' H Aluminum Novelty & Humour Weathervane

This weather vein is decent, but for the price it should have had less imperfections. Two of the scrolls close to the top were bent out of shape with ripples in them. I tried my best to straighten them out, by my pictures show that they still aren't perfectly straight. The finish is bad in a few spots with a smeared effect, other places with scratches. The letters are very roughly cut and jagged in some places. The most frustrating part was trying to screw the skinny rod into the larger rod. It was too tight and wouldn't thread well. I think that the finish coat of paint in the hole was the issue. It took me close to 20 minutes of screwing and unscrewing, while using rubber grip pads and A LOT of muscle to get them close to screwed together. I couldn't get them all the way together and my rubber pads had multiple tears from all the tension, so I gave up. Hope it holds. The directions suggest adding super glue to this process but that would have been a disaster since it would have dried quickly while the pieces refused to thread together. Since this is going so high on the roof I'll avoid the lengthy return process and put it up assuming the flaws won't be seen from below. However, if this was going in the garden on a rod I might think otherwise. Also hope hail doesnt dent the heck out of it, some pieces are thin.

This weathervane is the perfect addition to our new barn inspired home! Worked perfectly and has help up to some very strong West Texas winds!
