This base does its job. Perfect fit for the cantilever umbrellas. Strong and sturdy definitely works through storms.

I bought this base because it was the only one I could see in photos (that a reviewer posted) could work with the pedal at the base of my perfect Chumbley cantilever umbrella (also from Wayfair). It's a great looking base and seems well made but I'm very disappointed about the weight it provides. The site says that each piece will hold 50 lbs of sand and since the Chumbley umbrella requires 220 lbs of counterweight, I figured I could add water to the sand to come up with the right weight. Unfortunately, each piece only weighs 40 lbs filled to the brim with sand, and 50 lbs if I add as much water as it will take, so I'll have to buy something else to add the last 20 lbs. That's the only reason for the 4 stars. There's nothing holding the pieces together and their weight will probably keep them in place, but I bought a nylon strap to wrap around the outside and that does the job for a few dollars.

We filled with sand and it works great!
