Make sure that you turn the switch to "ON". It really only took about 4 hours of direct sunlight to charge it up. Very pretty and the colors change. Also with the big sunflowers it is beautiful during the daytime when the lights don't light up. It goes so well with all the other lights and wind spinners and wind chimes that I have in my yard.
