I've had the birdbath out for a week or two now. It hasn't attracted nearly as many birds as the daily visitors to the previous birdbath I had in the same spot. Maybe the bird decoration is acting like a scarecrow and frightening off real birds, but it's also hard to see that there is water in it. I added a solar fountain to it today in hopes that it will help birds see the water. The bowl is quite deep and can hold way more than the quarter gallon the package says it can hold. It holds at least a gallon, probably close to 2. The metal has already become discolored under the water line and the bird decoration is already rusting. Three legs seem a bit unstable; I would rather it had four legs. There's a family of 3 doves in my neighborhood and I'm afraid they will topple the bath next time they return and land on it. I'd be more upset about the quality of this birdbath, but I got it at a significant discount, so I'll continue to work with it and figure out how to make it most attractive to myself and the many birds of my yard. Edit: After the first season of use, the finish in the bowl had washed off and the bowl, legs, and decoration have all rusted.
