Great solid unit assembly notes. These are very well made. Using in my office lobby. The back pieces are 12 thick wood pieces just like the shelves (not a cheap cardboard backer). The base and top are one piece but hollow underneath. It looks nice enough from the back side that, if you wanted it to show, it would work. The holes for the screws are drilled with a recessed area so the screw heads sink in flat and there are sticker covers that match perfectly. These are intended to cover the lock nuts but could be used either way. The first page of the instructions threw me of a bit because it refers to a plastic hole plug that does not exist. Ignore that and move on. And when it says to lay the assembled unit on its back, dont do that. You cant get the holes lined up because theres an offset. Just keep the shelves up sideways and put the metal sides on from the top down. Flip and do side 2. Much easier. And before you try to screw the top and bottom on, poke the screws through the holes before starting. The coating seemed to cover the holes a little and makes it harder to get the screws in the hole. 2 person assembly is much easier.

This is exactly as advertised, looks great in our living room. Sturdy and functional
