There are two or three sides to this experience that are hard to sum up in a “star value”, so I’ve settled on 3.
In the end, the cabinets look nice, appear to be fairly sturdy and do the job intended as a grill island in an outdoor kitchen on our deck. But the process to get to here has taken over a month and been quite a pain. I will say, Wayfair, for their part were very good about all this, all the blame is on NewAge.
The cabinets appeared well packaged on individual pallets, but had number of relatively minor (for outdoor furniture) cosmetic issues on arrival. It turns out they don’t restrain the internal metal parts at all, which leaves them bang around inside, leaving scratches everywhere - unforced error. But the 3-drawer cabinet had the killer issue, you couldn’t close one of the drawers, it banged into the one below. I don’t see how this passed quality control, despite the stickers
I mucked around with NewAge support for 2 weeks trying to explain all this, send pictures and videos, emails and online chats. You get a different support person every time and seem to start from scratch. They offered some covers as compensation for the cosmetic issues (which I would have accepted), but were clueless on the misaligned drawers, wanting to send me new rails, which was not the problem. It seems like they should just be able to be adjusted, but no-one could tell me how. Oh, they were also missing some parts shown in the manual for installing a 3rd party grill, which they did eventually send, but then those didn’t actually fit the cabinets. They seem disorganized to me, with outsourced support, reading from scripts, that don’t really know the products.
Thankfully WayFair intervened proactively and just ordered a complete replacement set for me, suggesting I “build one good set out of the two” and return what remained. I’m on the backend of that process now and hopefully I can forget the last wasted month and get on with actually using and enjoying our outdoor kitchen before spring is over…
