PawHut Wooden Rabbit Hutch

This is great for a dwarf rabbit or Guinea pig but a little small for a full size rabbit.

Instructions were poor. Material poor quality.

You get what you pay for. Unless you live in the desert, there is no way this hutch will stand up to any sort of weather conditions. The roof is slanted with a trim that just catches water or snow and leads to rot. The back is two pieces with nothing to cover the joint (not to mention that it's only 1/4" thick). The directions were terrible, the screws provided were not what the directions said, and there was a fair amount of guessing on how exactly to put it together. We bought this because we needed a hutch for our rabbits FAST. It came fast, but honestly . . . our shipping crate turned chicken brooder was cheaper and is better quality. Oh! One more thing: the top section . . . yeah . . . that's hardly gonna hold any weight. Don't buy this. Not worth it!

I am happy with the finished product. I purchased it for two, three-week-old chicks although it is marketed for small pets such as bunnies (I think it would be too small for rabbits and better suited for smaller rodents). The chicks haven’t figured out the ramp yet but I am looking forward to when they use it and can access both levels. It makes for a nice piece of indoor furniture at the moment, but as other reviews explained, the wood is not suitable for out door use and if I choose to move it outdoors I will put a protective coating on it first to give it a chance against the elements. It would be ideal if the lower mesh panel had hinges and a deadbolt for easier access. I have to agree with other reviews that the instructions for assembly were sub par, and the pencil lines (guides?) drawn on some pieces were not very visible or helpful because they weren’t referenced in the instructions. Overall, it is a cute unit that may be slightly overpriced but practical for what I need at the moment and I have enjoyed dressing it up with lights and candles for a more festive chick-hutch.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. The slide wall does not line up proper leaving a space and it doesn’t go to the tray so if your rabbit falls he will strangle himself. The screws are basically made of plastic so they all stripped putting it together. There were no predrilled holes. And the ladder is supposed to screw to the removable tray....which would make the tray not removable. I promise you this is not a good enclosure. Do not buy it.
