Came out smelly but aired out fine. Screw in the steps first into the poles then the poles into the base FYI. I did that first as it made sense otherwise you would be stuck. The stairs are sturdy and perfect height for my bed for my fat old cat. She needed some treats on the stairs to get her to use them now she uses them like a pro! I was hesitant to buy it for the price but it was worth it for the ease it brought my cat and to prevent her getting injured. Hopefully it will help her loose weight haha
