I purchased the medium size option of this tree because our cats are getting older and will not need very tall cat trees for their safety. Despite the description stating the base is stable, it is not. We will have to put it up against a wall because it does move side to side and possibly tip over if a cat jumps on or off suddenly. It is for small cats not medium or large cats. My cats are larger so they barely fit in the hammock and cannot even turn around on the perch. My husband assembled it before I could really look at it out of the box and the cats started scratching on it so I cannot return it. I would not recommend this tree at all. It is not worth the price and can be unsafe with the small base. We will need to look for something else that the cats are comfortable laying on.
