Our 13 y/o Vizsla removed the top cover the first time he laid on the bed. With some modifications, I made it more secure - but still not ideal. The third night our Mr. Jaz used the pad inside his Igloo doghouse, the cover came off and he ripped a hole in the vinyl (?) covering of the bed itself. If an old boy who doesn't dig or chew, and has arthritic hips, can rip the main casing exposing wires, foil and foam - I fear what a younger or more active dog could do. Overall, heats fine but simply not durable enough for us to feel safe letting our dog use. Waste of money and time (modifying Igloo to fit cord through back floor). Disappointing as we have used multiple K & H products in the past without issue.
