Render Wood Litter Box Enclosure

Obsessed! Fits my spot perfectly. I built it my myself in about 2 12 hours but everything was relatively easy to put together.

The final piece is pretty sturdy and my 15 pound cat jumps on it and it stays still. But as mentioned by other reviewers, the price is as if it were real wood, and it is cheap mixed wood with a vinyl covering on it. I gave it 3 stars for the INSANE assembly that everyone talked about. They weren't kidding, and I am someone who loves assembling challenging stuff, has an art degree, and is very visually oriented. This was by far the most lengthy and detailed assembly I've ever done and would not recommend to anyone who doesn't have advanced assembly capabilities and good wrist function. This took me about 2.5 hours and I included some pictures of steps that tripped me up. People mentioned in other reviews about the drawers not aligning properly, and this is likely because they screwed the tracks into the wrong holes (easy to do because instruction picture is hard to see). I included a photo of which hole to screw them into relative to the wheel. Also, be careful when sliding the bottom board of the drawers in - I broke one of the aluminum screw pieces because I had shoved it in the wrong direction. The woodgrain direction should be side-to-side from one track to the other (not from back to front where the handle and back of drawer are). Another review mentioned that the door was too difficult to snap closed - Well, there is a tension adjustment (which I took a picture of). I put it on the lowest (minus) setting and it works well for me. If this were cheaper than $200+ dollars, I might have given it a higher rating. You're paying a premium price for cheap quality "wood", and then having to put hours of work into assembly. The hardware is heavy duty for the drawers, but the clips and slide tracks for the door are plastic which means you have to be gentle opening and closing or it will break. If the final product is worth it to you (it was to me because I love the look), then be prepared to put in the work.

This cabinet was packaged extremely well- all the pieces had paper between and foam to keep everything tightly packed and insulated during shipping. Assembly insurrections were clear and all the pieceshardware well packaged and labeled. This is not an entry level furniture build— I my husband are pretty experienced flat-pack assemblers and this still took a number of hours, but in large part this is because it’s actually really well built with lots of reinforcements. The only real hardware issue we have is that one of the push-latch mechanisms failed, so we just removed it and secure it on one side. The cabinet itself is very attractive and fits a nice big litter box. The odor prevention is great! Our girl is very happy along with us!

Incredibly difficult to build, terrible quality, and has defects in wood.

Sturdy and well made. I was nervous about my first purchase on Wayfair and this completely blew me away. I love the door mechanism - my pets and kids still haven’t figured it out!
