23" Mitzel Carpeted A-Frame Scratching Post

Bought two of this cat scratcher. Husband had them put together in 5 minutes. Good height for our larger cat. Narrow design makes it easy to tuck into a corner or behind an arm chair.

Good: My two cats are really enjoying it - they love the A-frame, crawling up and around/inside it & sitting at the apex to survey the territory. Also, I think this will be extremely easy to re-carpet when it's time, so a good investment at a reasonable price. Bad: it's 24" tall, not 28". Wobbly frame as others have mentioned (the top of the 'A' is not attached to each other), but the kitties seem to like the challenge of balancing. Bottom is slippery, could scratch non-carpeted flooring. Slides a bit on carpet but not too bad. Ugly: the one I received had staples in the carpet on all scratching sides; this is dangerous for kitties as a claw can be completely ripped out if caught on a staple. I removed 68 staples in total with my needle-nose pliers. That said, the glued underneath seam is solid and we've had no issues with carpet despite removing all the exposed staples.

Its smaller than I thought but its ok. A little bit unsturdy.

The size and style are great - and the cats love it - but the construction design isn't fantastic. It wobbles a lot, and I'm not sure how long it will withstand two cats scratching on it and playing on and around it. I'd hoped it would be better built and more secure for the price I paid, but it'll do the job for as long as it lasts.
