An almost perfect cat tree. Just 2 chipped pieces, one of which will be in the back. Assembly from start to finish (including dragging the box checking all inventory) was about 2.5 hours. One of my 5 cats actually slept in the cubby halfway through construction and stayed there until the end. That tells you that he knew this was his, and he felt comfortable sleeping in there in the midst of me putting more pieces on.
Pros
-very well stapled and secured sisal rope
-very thoughtful layout and design to have Velcro on the landings to attach to the cushions
-big enough to accommodate bigger cats
-awesome fabric and cushions!
-unlike high-end carpeted trees, this isn’t going to shed! (Yes, there will be sisal bits once in a while, but I won’t have to brush this tree-cushions can go in the wash!)
Cons (yes, it’s over 250, but I would have expected)
-more cushions on the bare landings—one cat slipped and fell off his first time, so I put a blanket there for an extra bed and extra support for all of them climbing. They aren’t used to non-carpeted trees, so this is something very new to them.
-the option to flip the orientation of the cubbies to match the steps
-more attention to the sisal rope posts and how there are obvious bare sections
Overall, it’s a tad wider than expected in my space (I did not account for the sleeping hammock and how big that was when I measured so I was off about 6 inches or so), but I’m hopeful that they all use it in time (2 are currently sleeping on it, and 2 have smelled it but haven’t committed to climbing it yet).
