I was surprised on how this pads were truly self warming.

I put these in the window catio that I have for my two cats just for something warm to lay on when it's cold out. They seem to enjoy laying on them. I washed one (after it got wet) and the zipper broke, but it still works as needed.

The self warming mats are thin. I put them in an outside house for the ferel cats. I hope when the cats lay on them they stay warm.
