NOT WATERPROOF** saw a lot of posts and upon opening, it was great for what I needed. Assumed the laminate parts would keep the wood safe and it's listed as a "hard wood" but turns out it wasn't. Not that I needed it to be but would have been nice to know, given we use it outdoors (as did other reviewers).

This gate is very stylish however these puppies have figured out how to escape. Probably perfect for smaller dogs. But is a nice looking gate we get a lot of compliments.
