Once complete and set up its a decent enclosure. We got it for our chickens and attached the hen house to it, just left off a couple bars and zip tied the entrance right to it. The instructions absolutely suck and we wound up having to unbolt like 200+ connections to double up the gussets. Now, my wife and daughter got the base started and then asked for my help, I never questioned whether or not they started it correctly so perhaps they missed a step. The door is like waist high to my 6’ frame so it’s a definite crouch to get in there. I can stand in between the “roof trusses”. It has a good appearance and I wonder how it will hold up to the AZ monsoon winds. I used spiral drill in anchors to pin it down, no way the little stakes it came with will keep this in our yard in high winds. I am contemplating what to do in a couple years when the top is sun rotted away, there are only a few trusses to make the roofline and while it looks great, it does not take much to push it off level/plumb. To my amazement, this came in three relatively small, but heavy boxes and we were a few nuts and bolts short but they at least give you a spare parts bag, which had enough to complete the build. Be prepared that this comes in literally hundreds of individual pieces so it can look overwhelming, just follow it step by step and comes together rather nicely, be patient nd take your time. It really is an amazing engineering feat to get this big ole enclosure in these three little boxes. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. I wish the top had the same level of structure (aka bars) as the walls so the fabric top can be optional for predators and when it simply rots away but it would be easy enough to just get some netting and/or a shade later.. Pretty good enclosure for our dogs don’t have the roof on due to weather we have had but it also is pretty good quality. I will be interested to see how this holds up when we have to move and then have to rebuild it again. One thing to note is this thing has a ton of pieces so be prepared for it to take a bit to put together but overall fairly simple to put together it’s just a tad flimsy. This is a very nice piece of furniture. It is a high-class dog pen, constructed of very sturdy black metal and beautiful wood. It’s the perfect size for our Australian Cattle Dog, who is medium-sized. The door works great and the latch locks it in place well so escape artists will have a hard time getting out. It was pretty easy to build. I love how long it is. For Bassets I needed a long play area. I plan to plant herb in box planters around the perimeter. Different dog friendly plants and herbs. It will be a sensory thing for them. I did one sections mulch, one artificial turf and the 3rd pavers. While it comes with dog bowl at the door, I plan to attach an automatic water bowl to it.
