The web site calls this item a “Garment Rack,” but I think it is much more of a storage unit or hall tree. It was purchased for a laundry room that was getting messy and disorganized. It has really helped! The metal shelf and the wood-look seat on the bottom are spacious and hold a lot: in the photo, two wooden crates and a large wicker basket, with room for more. They also make a handy landing place for stacks of newly folded laundry. The hooks are good for tote bags, laundry bags, canvas shopping bags, and anything else you want in easy each.
The boards on the seat and at the top of the unit are laminated particleboard in a reasonable approximation of wood. They are thick, smooth and finished to the touch, and look like they will resist bending or warping.
The metal frame is sturdy and arrived without any scratches, bending, or other damage. It is an attractive dark gray in color. One person assembled the unit in under an hour, and described it as very easy to put together. All the holes were in exactly the right places. Once assembled, there is no movement or wobbling in the metal fame. We could wish for assembly instructions in words rather than only a picture, but it was not complicated.
Overall, this is an attractive item that works well, at a reasonable price point.
