St. Regis Performance Wool Floral Indoor Rug

To begin, I've never owned a rug this nice and the quality is apparent. After rolling out the rug, I did not have to struggle with weighing down the edges so they would lie flat (something that I annoyingly have had to do in with prior rugs); Its weight and density caused it to lie flat as soon as unrolling it. And can I just talk about how soft it is? It is unbelievably soft to the touch with no bristly-feel. I have a feeling my cats are going to have a field day on it. Again, with cheaper rugs, you do not get the same texture. Even the underside was soft. Speaking of the bottom of the rug, since this is my first experience with a higher-quality rug, I do not know if it is typical. However, I do know that it was not your typical matting/backing (the plastic-like grid material). I would certainly recommend a carpet mat that goes under your rugs, not only for extra cushion (it has a great bit of cushion itself), but to protect the threads on the backing. The only downside of this rug is the color. In the pictures online, and in the product name, it is apparent there is some yellow to the rug; the rug is much more yellow than in the picture. It is still a gorgeous rug, but I am going to have to place it into a different room to avoid clashing with my furniture/wall color. Hopefully my pictures show the color accurately. Overall, I do recommend this rug if you are looking for a luxury, high-quality piece that will add a pop of color to your room. ***UPDATE*** While I still think this rug was beautiful and very soft, it shed sooo much. We constantly had to vacuum it to pick up the clumps of fibers. This is definitely not intended for high traffic areas --- in our case, we had it under our dining table. If you have kids and/or pets who will be walking on it, you'll probably have to deal with the shedding. It would be great in an area where there is little traffic.
