Just beautiful! I was looking for a large area rug to add some color and contrast with the neutral colored flooring we are currently installing in our home. This outstanding rug caught my eye. This rug is a 100%, dense wool pile. I like the fact that this rug can be just lifted up, the floor can be mopped under it, and the rug itself taken out and professionally cleaned every so often. I did NOT want to have permanent wall-to-wall carpeting in our house; ease of cleaning is why we are having luxury vinyl tile put in. This rug will add some color and contrast the new neutral colored flooring. If we decide to lay this rug down in our master bedroom after the new flooring is installed, it will give me something soft to put my bare feet on after the roosters wake me up! I want to put it in an area where it will not get heavy traffic. It is really of heirloom quality and I want it to last many years. We could also put this gorgeous rug in our (seldom used) dining room. The colors (and the whimsical chickens) would go well in that room too. After we decide, I should be able to post a larger picture of the entire rug or most of it. It is just a little too large to take a picture of the whole thing from the empty second bedroom, where it is temporarily placed during our home renovation project. Make sure you do measuring before ordering, it is a HUGE rug. The close-ups I was able to take allow for viewing the detail in the rug design. The major color is a very pretty shade of light to medium blue; it is a richer color than it appears in the photos. The other accent colors are light and dark green, tan, cream, brown, rust, a kind of peachy-orange color, and light and dark gold shades. It is a very colorful rug, so would go with many different color schemes however the background blue is the most pronounced color so keep that in mind when making decor decisions. I am very excited about adding this unusual rug to our home, and hope the pictures help in contemplating adding it to yours. A winner!
