"An exemplar of transregional textile synthesis this 8'2"" x 10'2"" hand-knotted Pak Parjian rug from Pakistan demonstrates how the Parjian medallion tradition evolved through South Asian craftsmanship. Woven from premium New Zealand wool at an ultra-fine 300 KPSI density on a cotton foundation it achieves both structural precision and chromatic sophistication. The teal field punctuated by a central medallion in rose and ivory is framed by a coral-pink border enriched with intricate floral arabesques and gold highlights paying homage to the Parjian garden aesthetic symbolizing symmetry and renewal. The low even pile height accentuates detail clarity making it an ideal choice for formal living spaces libraries or dining rooms where balance and refinement are central to the interior narrative. Combining durability with historical elegance it stands as a modern heirloom in the lineage of hand-knotted excellence."Storey Behind the Art: The sheep rearing industry was firmly established in the island nation of New Zealand by the 19th Century with New Zealand wool quickly becoming the gold standard for rug wools the world over proving to be far superior than other wool types and resulting in premium handmade rugs and designer rugs for modern homes alike. Thanks to the islanders' sheep rearing techniques New Zealand wool is renowned for being eco-friendly durable and non-toxic. With a 32 micron build New Zealand wool rugs feature a bright white colour with the yarn providing an ideal base for dying into a range of other colours and design forms. It is therefore common to find the use of this wool in Oushak Parjian Chinese Art Deco and Contemporary rugs. Moreover rugs made from New Zealand wool such as high pile rugs or soft wool runners offer a lush opulent feel when walked on without compromising on quality authenticity or durability.
