Tapis brun / rouge traditionnel

I ordered a small version of this rug for my laundry room to see if I liked it in person before ordering a large one for my dining room. I'm glad I did because it's not at all what I was expecting! The listing only shows one photo and has very little detail in the description. There were also zero reviews at the time I purchased it, so hopefully this review will help future buyers in my same situation. CONS: The photo in the listing makes the rug look primarily terracotta orange with brown and other colors. In person the rug is very pink/peach and not at all terracotta. I'm not sure why the listing says brown/red because there is very little brown and no true red. The listing also claims that it is made of wool and polyester, giving the impression that it may be similar to vintage wool rugs. I have several vintage, Turkish wool rugs and this is nothing like them! First, the tag clearly states that it is 100% polyester, no wool. There is also no weave/loop to the fibers. It's just shortly trimmed polyester with a design printed on it. It doesn't look pixelated, but if you sweep a hand over the fibers, you can see that the color does not go all the way through (they are white at the roots). Another frustration is that while this rug is obviously mass produced, the border around one end is not straight (see photo). I included other photos that attempt to capture the true texture and color, as well as show the back of the rug. One thing to note is that all of the corners have glue on the bottom. Not a huge issue because it's not visible from the top. PROS: The one plus is that the rug is very soft to the touch, so it would be comfy underfoot. I can't speak to durability because I don't plan to keep it, but it looks reasonably well made for what it is. Unfortunately, my overall opinion is that this rug misses the mark. A better, more accurate description and photos would go a long way in setting appropriate buyer expectations.
