The colors are not as saturated as this image indicates and there was a small, hard area when I pulled it from the box. I thought it was a small rock, but it turned out to be paint from the design. When I pulled at it to break it up and remove it, a chunk of the mat came out with it. It is not hugely noticeable and the mat still does the job.
