After placing the rug in the family room and walking barefoot on it, I am stepping on sharp wood like splinters and even plastic pieces which hurt. I am removing them as I feel them but I would not want my pet walking on this rug or baby crawling on it until I feel sure I have found all the sharp pieces. Otherwise the rug is nice.
