• Our hand-knotted rugs are handcrafted by skilled artisans for exceptional quality. Follow these care instructions to maintain the luxurious hand-feel and beauty. Vacuum regularly: Regular vacuuming and the occasional gentle shake should keep your rug in shipshape condition. Hand-knotted rugs with a sheared pile will shed some at first. Minimize shedding by using a low setting when vacuuming. Always use the standard floorhead and avoid rotating brushes. Use a low-power setting when vacuuming the edges. Rotate often and avoid direct sunlight: We recommend occasionally rotating your rug to reduce wear and tear and help prevent fading. This is especially important if the rug is placed in a sunlit area. Handle loose yarns: It can be common for stray or loose yarn to pop up on your rug over time. Do not pull it; simply trim the longer yarn with scissors until it's even with the rug pile. Clean spills immediately: Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry white cloth or towel; do not rub. For spot cleaning, use a dye-free, gentle detergent solution mixed with cold water. Rinse and blot quickly to dry with a clean towel. Use furniture pads: Place furniture pads under heavy pieces to help prevent flattening and preserve the rug's pile. Add a rug pad: We highly recommend using a rug pad underneath your rug to help prevent slipping and stretching and to add comfort underfoot. Professional Cleaning: We recommend an annual professional cleaning to help keep your rug looking its best.

It is common for wool rugs to shed, as they are created from natural fibres that form long strands of material that are then hand-knotted to create delightfully soft and durable area rugs. Due to the sheared pile, loose fibres will eventually work their way to the surface. If your wool area rug starts shedding, this is normal. Just trim any tufts of wool that appear with a sharp pair of scissors; do not pull the fibres. Even though shedding does occur, and is not preventable, there are steps you can take to help maintain the shedding of your wool rug.
