Excessive shedding even after a full year – unacceptable quality I purchased two of the Stenger Floral Hand Tufted Wool Area Rugs in Beige/Ivory by Fleur De Lis Living last year, and they have been a huge disappointment. I initially expected some shedding, as wool rugs often do at first, so I gave them an entire year to settle and improve. Unfortunately, the shedding has not gotten better at all. Every time I vacuum, an enormous amount of wool fibers are sucked up. My vacuum canister fills with thick clumps of wool each time, making it look like the rugs are slowly being destroyed. I’ve included photos showing how much wool comes out during normal vacuuming — this is from regular household use, not abuse. After a full year of ownership, this level of shedding is completely unacceptable. For rugs at this price point, I expected durability and normal wear, not constant fiber loss and ongoing mess. I’m genuinely concerned about how much material has already been lost and how long these rugs will even last. I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you’re considering this rug, be prepared for constant cleanup, frequent vacuum emptying, and shedding that does not improve over time.
