This was my second try at a dining room carpet, and it works much better than the previous one. The background is dark grey with a hint of blue; I wouldn’t call it charcoal. It looks darker in my pic than it does in real life. The gold is more mustard, with a hint of green, but still works for me. It’s just the thickness that I wanted, low pile so it doesn’t make the benches rock. I used a thin rubber/felt pad and the two work well together. I’ve already had to clean after our messy cats, and the carpet cleaned up well. The looped carpet threads are thick and dense with few loose threads. With books at the corners, it flattened well. Overall, it seems like a high quality, attractive, sturdy carpet that we are quite happy with.

The rug is exactly as I hoped—the pile is flat but thick, the colors muted (gold had less yellow in it than the picture showed, the gray a medium charcoal). I ordered a rug pad but I feel it would be fine without it as it is laying under two chairs and a small side table. I’ve been happy with all of the rugs I’ve ordered from Wayfair.
