I wanted a large, durable rug for my living room - mostly so my dogs would have good traction for their tug-of-war games. This rug is gorgeous - it transformed the room. I'm very happy with it. The colors are just as pictured. The only thing I don't love about it is the tassels; could do without them but it's not a dealbreaker. Yes, the rug shed a bit when new. But so do the dogs, so I'd be vacuuming just as much either way.
