I knew I would be taking a gamble by ordering a rug online. You just can't truly see the colors or get the feel that way. When it arrived, the rug was soft enough. It has a higher pile, but it is not a shag rug. This is what I was looking for. It was plush enough underfoot, but the actual yarns are not that soft. I did like the pattern of the rug, but the biggest letdown was the coloration. The dark areas of the rug have dark brown and actual black yarns in them. I did not care for this at all as I felt it really drew your eye to those areas of the rug. If it had stayed more in the beige/brown family, that is how the picture online reflected it. I ended up returning the rug.
