We recently installed composite deck boards to replace the old pressure treated wood boards. The composite manufacturer states rubber floor mats should not be placed on the composite deck boards. The manufacturer recommends only natural fiber mats which can "breathe" be used. I just received my doormat so I don't yet know how well it will function for the application it was purchased for. It looks good and is gentle on the bottoms of your bare feet.
