This has moved to a definitely don't buy for me. The rug continues to lose pieces. We bought a rug to go on the rug to hide the parts that are failing. The more it gets walked on the more it falls apart. So lovely to look at... but not lovely in the home. ORIGINAL REVIEW First off... I love this rug's design. I am mixed on whether or not I would buy it again. The biggest thing to know about this rug is that it is not really a cowhide rug. Yes, the blue is cowhide but the silver (really more off-white) is some kind of textile. Maybe wool??? The silver is made up of 1.25" long strands that are sewn between the cowhide pieces. I felt a little duped by the listing but I truly love it in the room so we were good with keeping it. Also, the price seems fair for a non-full cowhide rug. It felt like an incredibly good deal for full cowhide. Maybe equally important or more important to know... our rug is breaking down a bit after only 2 months of use. Those wool strands are coming up in 3 places now. We have lost about 7 so far and they don't show signs of stopping. It started with a singular strand. We now have 3 spots where they are coming up. It is in the highest traffic spot of the rug but it truly has been only 2 months. The first strand pulled out after only 2 weeks of use. We thought we could live with it but we are now wishing we had said something earlier. Other notes... the rug isn't pieced together all that well. The rug is sewn a little askew so the border is getting thinner as you move across the rug. Then suddenly the rug is offset by about a half inch to correct the problem of the shrinking border. It is noticeable but we decided we could live with it. It is more noticeable on one side vs. the other so we positioned the rug to hide the problem. For our taste, this was the rug for us. We love it in the room. We just wish it was A. what was advertised (full cowhide) and B. better made.

Absolutely beautiful when it arrives, but very soon after it got more and more ugly by the day. It is not all leather, there is a lot of yarn in this rug that like to come out and leave bold spots. And to be clear, those are not stains on the rug but bold spots and they are all over the rug.

It’s a cool rug but shouldn’t be sold as a hide rug. Half of the material is some sort of blend(the lighter color). Also my colors were not the same as pictured. Very dark navy. Almost black. The other reviews showed full hide and that isn’t what I got. Will return.

Absolutely love these rugs! They are a mixture of a deep navy blue and a little bit brighter navy or royal color, with the royal color standing out a little bit more. Neither the pictures online, nor the ones I took can show the colors best, but I have a navy blue theme going throughout my home, and these fit in perfectly! They do smell a little bit like the cowhide they're made from straight out of the packaging, but it dissipated quickly. Being they are natural cowhide too, there are areas where the lighter color can be almost a cream color, and other spots a little bit on the tan side. They are not super thick rugs, but are soft underfoot. Definitely recommend a rug pad, unless putting in front of a doorway. I read that cowhide is actually easier to clean than you would think in many other reviews as did look for a while at many before choosing these rugs.
