Description online of material said wool. Rug tag actually showed 70% wool, 30% cotton. I specifically wanted 100% wool for ease of cleaning up after pets. Also, although variance in coloring can be expected, picture was much different than product. Blues in picture were almost gray in actuality, and overall rug was duller and darker. That being said, the rug appears to be a great quality, nice looking, and will still work. Kept due to the great price, but colors not really what I wanted.
