I'm a designer so I am picky about materials... The higher white pile is very soft and not too fake looking and basically white, and the low pile is a very nice natural texture with some small striations in it that add some interest. It's really nice! Very good quality, very neutral colour [might look a bit grey in my photos].

Fun design! We bought this rug to brighten up our apartment living room. The backing is darker than expected (more tan than cream) but otherwise looks great. The base is thin and a little rough (like a jute rug), while the fluffy patches are soft (not cashmere-soft, more like cotton ball texture, which makes sense since I think this is the cotton part). It's thin and easy to unfurl, didn't shed although I do recommend vacuuming it first. There were a few stray threads but we cut them off easily. UPDATE 1 year later: This sheds OFTEN, many small cotton balls. We have to vacuum it every week. But it's not the worst, it's manageable and still soft. No bald patches yet.
