Rug is soft and the design is as pictured. I have it in my mudroom and it handles mud and moisture ok. The non-stick backing is great. The taupe rug in one of the pictures in the ad appears more gray in color, but that is not the case. It is appropriately called taupe (no strong gray appearance). It's not 5 stars because the design is really just printed(?) on top despite the description saying, "Machine Woven." To me, machine woven means colored fabric was used which would maintain color all the way through to the rug backing. Instead, the top is colored and then the rest through to the bottom is white. It causes areas of white to show through after the rug is walked on and the fabric is rubbed in different directions. See pics. For a mudroom or high-use entryway, it's acceptable mainly because the pattern itself is busy enough to not draw attention to the pops of white.
