I spent a very long time looking for a rug that was eco friendly (not made out of plastic blends) but also stylish and not too expensive. I thought this one checked all the boxes and was really looking forward to it until it arrived. Upon opening, there was an overpowering chemical smell, not what I was expecting from a “100% Fine Indian Wool Pile” rug. This smell filled the entire downstairs of my house and made everyone feel sick. We had to open the windows, even though it’s 30 degrees outside, just so we could breathe. A day later and the smell downstairs is so powerful you can taste it. I moved the rugs outside.
This rug was a replacement for our old 8’x10’ area rug and when we unrolled the carpet we noticed it looked significantly smaller than our last one. Upon measuring we found that it was indeed 6 inches smaller overall. That may sound insignificant but that’s half a foot of perimeter we didn’t receive. We feel like we were lied to and it looks ridiculous in our den because it’s way too small.
There are some pros, it is pretty and very plush, but overall we are incredibly disappointed.
The wayfair representative gave me the choice of a small discount or paying to return the item. It blows my mind that I should pay for something that was falsely advertised. I did our research but unfortunately it feels like I’ve been duped.
