How do I remove a stain from my STAINMASTER® carpet?
Use a mild dishwashing liquid detergent and lots of water to rinse the stain from the carpet. After each application of solution, blot excess moisture with a clean white cloth from the outer edges of a stain and move inward to prevent spreading.
Three common household stains are dirt, urine, and wine. STAINMASTER® recommends the following cleaning process and solutions for getting rid of pesky stains:
Step 1: For dirt, vacuum up as much as you can. For liquid spills, soak up and blot.
Step 2: Apply a tested cleaning solution for at least 5 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse with cold water and cover with a white paper towel.
Here are our recommended cleaning solutions:
Detergent Solution
Combine 1/4 teaspoon liquid dish soap and 1 cup warm water.
Vinegar Solution
Combine 2 tablespoons white vinegar and 4 cups warm water.

How often is professional carpet cleaning recommended?
The frequency of carpet cleaning is determined by your lifestyle and household. Vacuum at least weekly to remove dry soil particles that can dull fibres and cause matting. For STAINMASTER® carpet, a professional steam clean and hot water extraction is required every 18 months to maintain your warranty.

Can I use cleaning products on my STAINMASTER® carpet?
Some products may harm the stain-resistance and colorfastness of STAINMASTER® carpet. We recommend spot checking to see whether the cleaning product has harmful effects. Choose a small, out of the way place to spot check. Otherwise, use the STAINMASTER® recommended products and solutions.

How long after a stain appears on the carpet can it be removed?
We recommend removing the stain as soon as possible for the best results. But with the durability and stain-resistant features of STAINMASTER® carpet, you should be able to remove most stains even after 24 hours. The ability to remove a stain that has set depends on the type. If you've repeatedly tried to remove a stain with no success, professional carpet cleaning services are recommended.
