Before you decide on the right wreath size, consider the look and feel you are going for. Think about where the wreath will go – will it act as the main focal point? Or will it be a small addition to the space? Here are some typical wreath sizes and their common uses.

Mini/Candle Size: Mini wreaths are 15" or under, making them the best option to sit around a candle. Alternatively, hang a mini wreath on a gallery wall inside your home to add to the decor instead of having the wreath be the main focus.

Large: If you love an oversized look, opt for a large wreath. Large wreaths that range from 37" – 49" work well on large windows, garage doors, or even over fireplaces.

Extra-Large: Make a statement with an extra-large wreath this holiday season. Starting at 50", extra-large wreaths are bound to catch the eye and will act as the perfect focal point for your outdoor decor. Hang on the outside of your home or above a fireplace inside if space allows.

Measuring for the Right Wreath Size

Before choosing your ideal wreath size, be sure to measure the space you plan on hanging it.

How to Measure Your Front Door for a Wreath

When it comes to hanging your wreath on your front door, it's essential to measure your door to ensure it sits properly. For a traditional look, consider hanging your wreath in the center of your door. To ensure you are getting the correct wreath size, measure the width of your front door. Most front doors are typically 3' wide and can fit a 24" wreath perfectly centered. Your wreath should sit roughly 14" from the top of the door and approximately 6" on either side of the standard wreath size to achieve the traditional centered look.

How to Measure Your Window for a Wreath

Before measuring your window, look at the window style and visualize where you want your wreath to be suspended on the window. If you want to add candles to the inside of your window for the holidays, consider hanging a smaller wreath higher up so it doesn’t block the candle. If you're turning your windows into a festive focal point, consider going for a larger wreath.

Measure the width of your window, starting from one side and measuring straight across to the other side. Measure the height of your window by starting at the top and measuring straight down to the bottom. Knowing the measurements will give you an idea of what size wreath will achieve the look you are going for. You’ll want to have the same amount of space on either side of the wreath to keep the wreath centered on your window.
