Bring the Parisian cafe to your kitchen.
A twist on your typical breakfast table staple, crepes are a light option with endless customizations. Whether you just got a crepe maker, or it’s been sitting in your cabinet waiting to be tried, read on to learn how to make crepes.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
This recipe yields four crepes.
How to Make Crepes
1. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
2. Mix the Wet Ingredients
Create a dent with the flour and add your eggs. Gradually pour in milk, whisking to combine after each addition. Let batter stand at room temperature until slightly bubbly on top, 15 to 20 minutes.
3. Cook Your Batter
If your appliance isn’t nonstick, lightly oil or butter your crepe maker and set to medium heat. Dispense your batter (about 1/4 cup at a time) evenly onto your crepe plate.
4. Flip Your Crepe
Cook for two minutes, checking to make sure it doesn’t burn. Using a spatula, flip and cook for one minute more. Turn down the browning dial if needed.
5. Serve
Top your crepes with fresh fruit, hazelnut or chocolate spread, or powdered sugar. Enjoy!
