Whether you're drying your hands or toweling off after a soothing shower, towels are an everyday essential. Types of Towels
When looking for the best towels for your home, towel types are separated by size and purpose. We've outlined six of the most common types of towels to help you choose the right one.
Bath Towel
With a standard size that measures 27" by 52", bath towels are designed for drying off after a shower or a bath. These everyday towels are large enough to wrap around your waist or torso.
Hand Towel
Hand towels are smaller than bath towels and are approximately 16" by 30". They are used to dry your hands after washing and should be washed more often than bath towels since they’re used more frequently.
Washcloth
These small, square-shaped towels are usually 13" by 13". Washcloths are usually used inside or outside of the shower or bath to help wash your body, hands, or face. They’re often made of a lightweight, quick-drying material.
Fingertip Towel
Even smaller than hand towels, fingertip towels typically measure 11" by 18". Fingertip towels can be both practical and decorative, especially when layered over a larger hand towel.
Bath Sheet

Beach Towel
Because beach towels are used by the beach or the pool, there are a few key differences between beach towels and bath towels. Beach towels are typically longer and measure 30" by 60", and they are less plush than bath towels so that they can dry quickly in the sun.
